I was walking down to my apartment
head down in the news torrent
looking for the most recent
in a world under viral torment

then a drop of pink on the screen
something that i have seen
a lot in the periphery of the scene

I looked up and away
there it was a pink and brown and green array
topped with blue and white display
a sign of nature to make headway

yet the globe right now
doubt, fear, longing, gnaw
such is what we seem to show

up above the virtual horizon
alarm of what remains beyond
once in a while
see what is in the other tile

arose beauty on what remain
for from there is potential gain
a sliver of entertain
